Gular Wins Kutztown Match Race

KUTZTOWN, PA - Mike Gular won last Wednesday night's Grandview (Pa.) Speedway Modified Driver Shootout at The Fairgrounds at Kutztown Speedway.
The 15-lap event featured some of the top Grandview NASCAR Whelen All-American Series 358-Modified drivers in competition against each other driving XCel 600 Modifieds.
Starting second, Gular outgunned Duane Howard at the start and survived several restarts to take the win in his first-ever visit to the one-fifth-mile clay oval driving the Nick Mady No. 77x.
"It was a lot of fun," offered Gular, 25. "I want to thank the track for having us and hope we get to do it again."
Other drivers in the field included Brad Brightbill, Doug Manmiller, Howard, Kurt Spotts, Marc Fehr. Jeff Strunk, Troy Wink and Ryan Grim.
The S&N Racing/Banes Roofing No. 8 358-Modified was on display behind the Kutztown grandstands for fans to view.
Racing continues on Saturday at Grandview with the S&N No. 8. Banes Roofing is sponsoring the activities at Grandview this week.
The THP No. 53 big-block Modified will be in action Tues., June 24 at Bridgeport (N.J.) Speedway in the 40-lap, $4,000-to-win George Wingate Classic.
